Yesterday there was something unexpected, or the day before, and a bunch of people addressed it. seems like odd things ought to get mention. in today's lunar picture there is also an oddity which it seems ought to have been mentioned - the rather dark area toward the upper left.

today's APOD has a reference to a martian meteor, and when I click on it it takes me to a page which poses the question: how do you find martian meteors on planet earth? I so often wonder what colors are really like. Occasionally it says something is a false color image, but I have no idea what a non-false image looks like. today's posting of M57- is it really black and white, or is it really the colors it shows, since it does not say it is a false color image.
