I am in the ACT (Australia) does anyone know anything about a very bright - the brightest - star that can be seen in the skies at around 4:30 in the morning? I noticed it about 4-6 weeks ago. Does it have anything to do with RS Ophiuci which was documented on APOD February 24, 2006?

Would you be able to refer me to a website or like that answers all the basic questions on the universe that one might ask e.g how old is the earth? Do we know if there is an order in which our planets were formed? etc.

How big is the largest star on record? And where is it?
