My usual mind would say dense dusty star forming regions - maybe some protostars in progress- though my inquisitive mind says, don't they look like they're moving....?

The problem is I came to this site to learn, then I had to start to teach because of the inaccuracies being posted, Now it is "Dumbed Down" so much by those who don't want to learn, don't know what they are talking about and who should instead be arguing if Superman could beat-up the Hulk...

You can always try clicking on the credits lists below the pictures - might be worth a try - generally though, clicking on the APOD image gives you the largest version available....

The moon isn't aufully coloured anyway though....

I think there are - but remember the Milky is currently 'merging', or rather engulfing, the sagattarious dwarf galaxy as we speak...

I was under the impression that Enke did appear a lot smaller than expected after the explosion - mind you, that could just be because they were looking for it....
