Thanks for answering! Hmmm.. Yes, the sun and full moon are on opposite sides of the Earth, but the Earth is at it's maximum tilt this time of year so the ecliptic plane, as projected on our sky, would intersect both the eastern and western horizons further north than at other times of the year, rig...

Nova's Drake Equation "Origins" Episode

I've not had much interest in ETs so I don't know if this is a reasonable treatment of the equation, but there was a Nova on PBS called "Origins" which ran through the equation by interviewing experts on the subject. I found it interesting... Might want to program Tivo for to record it the...

Bored waiting for a computer job to complete, I decided to plug famous dates into APOD to see what the pictures were on those days. Freaky (coincidental, I assume) APOD for 9-11 of NGC 3310!
