This is one of Harry's links. http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap040411.html I have a couple of questions about this image. 1) Is the single small bright spot in the exact center of the image the galactic center or is it the two larger but slightly less luminous patches slightly to the right of cen...

The speed of light is constant. But! relative to some objects it can be reduced to zero. Gravity will affect the speed of light and its direction relative to the objects around it. Keep smiling The speed of light can be reduce to zero only if you allow X/0 to be a valid equation. There will be none...

Re: oil on the moon

For fear of showing some of my ignorance in public, but does anyone here know the chemical-mechanical reaction required to " make crude oil" ???? There is a debate if crude oil is the by-produce of ancient algae filled seabeds transformed over the eons to oil, or if the hydro-carbons are ...

FYI;

The total amount of mass needs to be accounted for the gravity field to remain constant.

Mass is not being converted into energy or any other exotic matter that does not have mass (maybe?).

Opinion, I don't like any theory where X/0 is a mathematical representation.

Most of the matter in the universe is high density plasma found in blackholes or similar objects.
I would sure like to see some type of evidence to support that statement.

So why is it that this theory should hold for the earth and not for the moon?
It's size, gravity and where the colliding object came from, its chemical makeup, the type and size of material ejected into orbit to form the moon. . . not an easy answer.

2) if they are the "natural colour", how the nebula (electron, Sulfur and oxygen ions to be more 'exact') would emit or reflect radiations? The light wouldn't be reflected, as the radiation knocks each electron off a photon of light is given off, depending on the element and the electrica...

If it is true that the rate of time runs proportional to proximity and strength of gravity fields, as the average density of the universe decreases due to expansion, the average rate of time should diminish proportionally to expansion.
Agree?

With the universe expanding its average temperature is dropping, same total energy, larger area. For entropy to reverse either more energy needs to be added to the system or the size of the universe needs to decrease. Time/space is dependant on matter and gravity, so there may be a point where the s...

That is not necessaraly true, a distant galaxy is giving off electromacnetic radiation, heat, gravity and so on. Once the energy leave the system as entropy, it will never return causing a net cool down. This means at some point far in the future, when all the possible reactions have taken place, al...

When you have a recycle of energy and matter its all in the accounting.
2 + 2- 4 = 0
The equation in the real world would be 2+2-4- entropy = -.00000001

A snip from one of the links: The most distance quasar known is at redshift 6.4. GRB 050904 was also very long, lasting over 200 seconds. Most bursts last only about 10 seconds. This is more of the evidence why the accelerating expansion of the universe maybe only an effect of a "Time Filter&qu...
