In fact, statistical odds are such that some of these places WILL be smelly from a human earthling nosepoint.
Don't over-analyze the anti-spambot puzzle. It's not my best work, I admit, but it is just there to keep the bots away.
Well, we are a tired race of humans, but we should still strive for truth. Your apology is accepted. One question though, is the cheese on smelly cheese pizzas green or purple?

Is there an issue with image credit here, or is it simply a case of multiple nom de plumes?
http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/show ... tcount=130

The pictures capture exactly the same scene at exactly the same moment, and in exactly the same orientation. That is, they are the same image, albeit the APOD has been better processed. Apologies if I have busted someone's nom de plume!

Cheers -

Rob

Thanks, Chris.
There is a remarkable similarity with this image, when considering the composition of the bright spot(s) and the reflection. And I think it supports your explanation quite well. :ssmile:

The photo shows a patch of slightly lighter color at the lower right. Could that be a reflection of the sun’s image? If so, why would it be shifted to the right, instead of directly below the sun?

I'm guessing that cloud shadows are producing this effect.

Image Partial Solar Eclipse with Airplane

Explanation: It was just eight minutes after sunrise, last week, and already there were four things in front of the Sun. The largest and most notable was Earth's Moon, obscuring a big chunk of the Sun's lower limb as it moved across the solar disk, as viewed from Fremantle, Australia. This was expected as the image was taken during a partial solar eclipse -- an eclipse that left sunlight streaming around all sides of the Moon from some locations. Next, a band of clouds divided the Sun horizontally while showing interesting internal structure vertically. The third intervening body might be considered to be the Earth's atmosphere, as it dimmed the Sun from its higher altitude brightness while density fluctuations caused the Sun's edges to appear to shimmer. Although closest to the photographer, the least expected solar occulter was an airplane. Quite possibly, passengers on both sides of that airplane were contemplating the unusual view only visible out the eastern-facing windows.
