Hi Peter,
I think it might be something on your end, I just opened up http://apod.nasa.gov in FireFox on this computer with no problems.

I will try later again with my home computer as well just to make sure, as the version on this computer is slightly older.

EDIT: Just tried it at home, works fine.

The APOD regular site does not work in the new FIREFOX browser (build on netscape platform) , but the mirror sites do. I don't know sufficient code to know why this difference exisits. If someone does now the solution, I will gladly forward to the site administrators.
