Anticrepuscular Ray West Texas

by tomhob » Sun May 10, 2009 2:40 pm

Late one evening while photographing a sunset near Fort Davis, TX after a storm, I turned to the East and saw this blue cone of light coming down out of the sky towards the Eastern horizon. I had no idea what it was or what caused it. Reading and posting on the internet I finally discovered that its called an Anticrepuscular ray that can appear at sunrise or sunset under certain cloudy conditions.
