And sometimes the observatory teases the clouds. Especially when there's something you just gotta see. Though the principle also applies when the only observatory is the naked eye.

The photographer caught an array of interesting astronomy subjects in this beautiful image. I like how the clouds seem to be teasing the observatory.

The subject of rays and the form of the observatory brought Gort to my meandering mind.

Since I mentioned Gort, I thought I would also mention that I saw a trailer for the remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still and it caused me concern. Keanu Reeves is acting as the advanced alien life-form and he disables some major government security system plus disables a large number of security agents all with his mind, yet he has to ask the interrogator with him what his suit size is. Seems to me, the interrogator’s suit size would be a no-brainer for an advanced telekinetically powered alien.
