The star is 56 Orion, and to be honest I can't tell you whether that's a bow shock or simply a curved front on one of the huge gas clouds that make up the Orion Nebula Complex. I wondered the same thing when I was creating the image.
These images may help with identifying the 1 degree square field of view (small red square). Click on the images to see larger images.
