My socks are gone.
I know how dim and difficult to photograph this object is, and what a spectacular image is being shown here! Given the absence of noise I wouldn't be surprised to find that Mr. Croman has exposed this literally for months.
The colors and detail are tremendous. I especially like the filaments of the dark nebula backlit in magenta just above the center. Even the spikes and soft flare on the stars scream "this is a quality image".
A more beautiful astroimage I've not seen in a while. Well done, Russell!
