This months National Gegraphic Magazine is excellent as a source of some of these images.

I think apod site owners wrote a book themselves, let me see.... oh yeah, http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap_faq.html question 11

Here are a couple of my favorites:

HUBBLE: Imaging Space And Time

Encyclopedia of SPACE

And at the top of my list is, "Other Worlds", but I can't find a link to it at the moment.

I'm not sure if these are exactly what you're looking for, but if all else fails, you could go to the HubbleSite Gallery Astronomy Printshop, and choose images that you like. Then, maybe use an online service, this in one example, where you can create your own 'picture book'.

(Hmmmm, maybe that idea is worth exploring......)

Anyway, I hope you find what you're looking for!

High quality picture book

No, not a childrens book as such.

I'm wondering if there are any books in print which feature some images as as those featured on APotD, pref. large full page images.

The closest I've found is Universe - Fred Watson but most images aren't full-page and there's too many old grainy pictures of rocket blast-offs and that's not what I'm after.

Any help much appreciated amigos (:
