Hubble has a lot of movies. You have to wait a while for them to download however. I downloaded this one in a lower bandwidth in case someone can't get in the higher bandwidth. :) http://imgsrc.hubblesite.org/hu/db/2005 ... w_mpeg.mpg

Thats almost it. Its the closest yet. The one I am looking for ends up at a object like this, (not this one but its just as close).

I remember the object being a orange/red, and having a distinct shape but it zoomed in just like the video in your post..

It's not a movie but Hubble has this site where you can pan very far out and see galaxies in just a point in the sky. :)

I remember what you are referring to, it wasn't an APOD but it was in a link placed in the Asterisk two to three years ago, I'll see what I can find.

I am almost certin that it was on this site, (perhaps it was a link from here to another site)?? It did start in oryan, and then zoom to something that was very very very very far away.. It was very cool.. If you know of something simmilar please post a link.. So I can check it, (hubble site is to confusing.).

The hubble site has several that do the opposite of what you are talking about. They start with a visible star field, then zoom in to the Hubble UDF images.

Me too, it sounds great.

And for the record, I'm relieved to see that there's someone else out there who looks at APOD every day. I thought it was just me that had no life... :lol:

I've been looking at the APOD virtually every day for several years, and frankly I don't recall seeing such an animation on this site. I could have missed it, and I'd love to see it if you do find it.

I remember looking at a video on The pic of the day site, It started out with visable stars in the night sky, then it was a movie like the camera was zooming out, very very very far out it came to a object in the nights sky,, (I cant remember what its called, but it was of something that you would find in hubbles pictures)...

I know its not much information to go on, I also know that there are not that many videos on the picture of the day. It would have been in the late summer to fall of last year.

(perhaps it was not on this site, it could have been hubble's site but for some reason I think it was here)..


Does anyone have a clue as to what I am talking about?
