It wasn't so much the appearance, but the description. I mean a galaxy on fire from a collision is... well, freaky. :shock:

Wow, it is a freaky picture. Then again, all galaxy pictures have a certain degree of abnormality to what most consider normal. But it's deffenatly something to admire :D

Bored waiting for a computer job to complete, I decided to plug famous dates into APOD to see what the pictures were on those days. Freaky (coincidental, I assume) APOD for 9-11 of NGC 3310!
