You'd have to specify which one for a more specific answer. It doesn't make sense to use the word "pure" because nearly all of them have had some sort of adjustments for brightness, contrast, sharpness, etc. But none of them have been manipulated to misrepresent what they are showing. Some APODs are panoramas, that is, more than one photo stitched together to create a wider view. Many photographs also represent parts of the electromagnetic spectrum which our eyes cannot perceive. Today's APOD, the mammatus clouds, is real and has not been fabricated.
