An approximately seven minute star trail photograph was taken of the southern sky above Kitt Peak, AZ. The four meter Mayall telescope dome can be seen in the center of the photo. A new moon was present on this evening making illumination of the dome difficult. The light of Venus as well as some light pollution from Tucson provided enough ambient light to illuminate the dome. The exposure was made of thirty-one 13 second exposures. A Canon t2i with a 100 mm lens at f/2.0 was used for the sub-exposures. A close crop was used in Photoshop to bring out details of the telescope dome.
