As usual, there are very many great images here.

Maurice Reviol, what a conjunction! Moon, Venus, Mercury - and palm trees!

Leonardo Orazi, that's a lovely portrait of the Crystal Ball Nebula.

Mike Killian, what a truly strange "Christmas garden" that is. The crescent Moon and Venus grace the skies above it.

Gimmi Ratto, I love images like yours - portraits of blue reflection nebulae, brownish dust and young blue stars, all in beautiful RGB colors. You bring out such interesting details in the dust, too.

Adam Block, that is probably the most impressive portrait of the Cone Nebula that I have ever seen. It actually reminds me a little of the Virgin Mary, seen from behind. She appears to hold her little baby boy on her right side. Both appear to be looking at the bright star of Christmas!

Tamas Abraham, your Moon and Jupiter conjunction over that church is beautifully melancholy.

VegaStar Carpentier, I like your colorful lunar haloes.

Peter Shah, that's a great wide-angle portrait of the Iris Nebula and friends. The bright blue star is one of my favorite stars, Beta Cephei.

Jerry Lodriguss, that's a very interesting portrait of the Rosette and Cone Nebulae. It is interesting that the Rosette Nebula is so much brighter. But of course, there is only one O-type star near the Cone Nebula, but there are at least hot bright giants in the Rosette Nebula. I like the blue cluster and reflection nebula, too, which might be Collinder 95.

Mike Salway, that's an amazing star trail image. The reflections of the star trails on the water makes the lake look like a waterfall.

Robert Arn, I guess that is a photo montage, but it is so creative! I can see that the Moon is in color. Please note the approving smile of the Lady in the Moon as she is looking down on the young lovers!

Gordon Haynes, that's a great image of the Pleiades.

Steve Cannistra, I like your subdued colors for the Double Cluster. They looked like that when I observed them through a telescope.

Leonardo Orazi, what a lovely picture of the Aries/Perseus border region! That is NGC 1333, isn't it? I must say that the dust structures are fantastic.

Lefteris Velissaratos, that's just a great picture of a most fascinating part of the sky, the nebulosity in the Omicron Persei region.

Emilio Rivero Padilla, that may be the "heartiest" portrait of the Heart Nebula that I've ever seen!

Thanks to everyone who contributed images!

Ann

Please find above the image I took on December 6, 2011 when the two celestial bodies were shining just few degrees apart over the Romanesque church of San Secondo of Cortazzone (40 km from Turin, Italy) that was built back in the 11th century.

Best regards

Stefano
