Oh, I've been searching like crazy to find this galaxy!!! :-x :-| :doh: :p:

I knew I had seen it before, and I even found it when I googled "interacting galaxies" - except I couldn't open the page where I could find information the galaxy, or see it more highly resolved! :-x :evil: :twisted: :twisted:

Well, thanks for giving me the address to Halton Arp's galaxy. That's where I found it. It is Arp 118, or NGC 1141 and 1142.

I think the Galaxy Zoo picture of Arp 118 looks better than the one I found by googling! :D

Stellar190 got fascinated by NGC 1142, and wrote a whole [url=http://www.galaxyzooforum.org/index.php?board=5.0]Galaxy Zoo Object of the Day[/url] on it, stardate [url=http://www.galaxyzooforum.org/index.php?topic=278434.0]27th October, 2010[/url].

This image is her own version of the SDSS data, made by downloading the FITS data and [s]playing[/s] working with the free astro-imaging software [url=http://hea-www.harvard.edu/RD/ds9/]DS9[/url].

But why a cuttlefish? Stellar190: "[i]Why have I called it the Cosmic Cuttlefish? I spoke to my Gran about the galaxy and we were trying to work out if it looked more like a squid or a cuttlefish. I settled for a cuttlefish[/i] :D"
