The Vela Supernova remnant image is impressive. It looks a tiny bit false color, but it is probably enhanced color rather than false. I don't think I have ever seen so many intricate details brought out in this region of the sky.
The very bright star in the lower right part of the image, is that Gamma Velorum, famous O-type supergiant/Wolf Rayet binary?
I've got to applaud Gote Flodqvist's image, too, for two reasons. The image is really nice, and I like how it brings the subtle colors of the Milky Way. And second, Gote Flodqvist (really Göte Flodqvist) must be a fellow Swede!
