Hi Achim
Nice to meet you in this manner.
Try using the other method, which I downloaded from the network.
Congratulations for creating Stratrails, is simply great software.
You also have very nice photos in your blog.
Many greetings
César

Amir, you can't upload the video to Asterisk, but if you upload it somewhere else, you can then link to it in a post here. Can you put your video on YouTube? If so, then you'd post the link to it here using the YouTube tags.

PM me if you want more details. Thanks!

Hi Nuclearcat, Amir:
Maybe you can use the freeware "Startails."
http://www.startrails.de/
I made my animation with this software and then editing with Moviemaker.
You can see here, is 24 frames per second.

Thanks mexhunter!
Amir the photos are taken with continous mode. I used moviemaker to make the video but most people use quicktime pro I think. Moviemaker's speed is not enough. So when you make the video with smallest duration of the images, you should save the video and then open it and from video effects make it double and double fast (4X). After that it must be 20-25fps I think. I used Canon EOS 450D and 500D. They are approximately same!

thanks for the tips,
but you didn't mention the interval. how much should that be? the time between exposures?
and what software is used to create the video? is it 25fps?
could you please also mention the brand and model of your camera, nuclearcat? i wanna compare the battery life.

Hello Nuclear Cat:
Very beautiful places, and a Timelapse very well done. Congratulations!
A year ago I realised a one with 670 photographies of 40 seconds, covering very great field, because I used a lens of 10mm to f/3.4 and a Canon camera 20Da.
I wanted to take photos from the Perseidas, and two small ones only appear that way. :(
Many greetings
Cesar

Thank you! I used 2 battery for the 2nd and third videos. I took approximately 650 images of 30s exposure. The motion of the stars is a little dependent on objective. I used 18mm (30s is ok for the video) but if you use a wide angle lens you can take 35-40 exposures I think. However for one picture my limit is 25".

thanks nuclearcat. interesting, time-lapses are great.
i wanna try it when i get somewhere to watch the meteor shower next month; so thanks for bringing it up cuz i have some questions to ask:
1. what's the maximum interval which still result the soft motion of stars?
2. how many 30-second-exposure pictures do you think my camera can manage to take? (Rebel T1i)
3. and could someone please name few softwares which can create time-lapse videos from images?
