What about lenticular clouds makes them fit into the category of astronomy? Because they are in the sky?

I actually have seen these before. From the backyard of my house before my neighbor decided to let bushy trees grow in his yard and block the view. these things build up rapidly . Hate to be on top of Mt Rainier during those winds ( or not ? ). My secret wish for an Outer limits type of event is for some dudes in a UFO to bring photo albums with pictures of the area from thousands of years back. If they exist.

Mrs. Barley: There's nothing strange about Washington, Mr. Carpenter.

Klaatu: A person from another planet might disagree with you.

Mrs. Barley: If you want my opinion, he came from right here on Earth. And you know where I mean.

Mr. Krull: They wouldn't come in spaceships, they'd come in airplanes.

Mrs. Barley: I wouldn't be too sure about that.

Geometry can be deceiving, but I think what we are seeing are linticular clouds from Mt. Rainier, the Goat Rocks, and Mt. Adams. Whichever, a nice photo.
